Getting Offline Traffic (and maybe even Oprah)

The other day, I wrote you about how bloggers and other website publishers are in constant need for content for their websites.

That’s why you want to write articles — so that they’ll put your content, your name, and your links all over the internet.

Good, yes?

Well, here’s how you can get publicity in the offline world, too.

It turns out that your local newspaper, trade papers, niche websites, the Wall Street Journal, magazines, TV Stations and Radio Stations all NEED CONTENT too.

Here’s how to give it to them.

It’s called a Press Release.

Years ago, it was like rocket science to get a press release written and submitted to the news wires, and it took a certain prayer or incantation to actually have your story published in any kind of media.

Today, that’s all changed.

You can write your own press release, have it distributed online, and get it seen by thousands of news organizations — publications that are looking for stories to write about.

Can you imagine for a moment what it’d be like to be written up in a major newspaper or magazine, or to be interviewed on your local TV or Radio?

PR makes it happen.

(I did this not long ago for a consulting client of mine. We wrote a press release and got him on the local morning news. He was VERY happy — and to this day refers people to the clip that we posted on YouTube. )

But that’s not all that happens with Web PR.

You’ll also — automatically — get picked up by the leading online newswires. That means you’ll show up on Google News, Yahoo News, and hundreds of other newswires.

Plus Google alert, Yahoo alerts, and on and on.

And your links on these newswires get counted as inbound links to our site, and so PR will give you higher search engine rankings, too.

The advantages of Web PR go on and on.

And that’s exactly why one of the expert faculty of my new Traffic System is one of the leading experts on Web PR.

During our session together, we’re going to write a press release LIVE on the call, while you watch, and then post it to the leading online web PR site. The next day, you’ll see it on Google and Yahoo news.

And the day after that, I’ll be helping you write your own press release too.

The Priority List for my traffic system is about to close soon, so get on it now while you still can. Major announcements about the system are coming your way after the weekend…IF you are on the Priority List.

Everyone else will get the information much later.

Web PR can change everything about your site’s success, so no website’s traffic equation is complete without it.

Who knows…you might even get on Oprah.

To Your Success,

–Mark Widawer

p.s. I’ll be giving away some scholarships to my Traffic System. If you want to be eligible for a scholarship, get on the priority list.

By the way, it used to cost $500 to $1000 or more to distribute a press release the old way. That put press releases out of reach for small business owners like you. But online — using a service that actually has far greater reach than the old way, press releases cost a tiny fraction of what they used to.

Still, you’ll want to make sure your release is written as effectively as possible so that you can maximize your pickup, interest, distribution and traffic. And that’s why the PR session is going to be so vital to you.

Get on the priority list now.

Press releases should be easy. But it must be newsworthy, or should be looking as if it’s brand new, right? I’m really interested in what you have to tell about all this.

I hope you will give advice on how to handle radio interviews to. Like, how to deal with (blog) journalists for positive and massive exposure.

I learned how effective a good press releases can be working with a great PR manager in the mid-90s. The internet and search engines have changed how to write a good press release and distribute it. You still need to write a good press release story. My next step is to do SEOwrite on it. Is there a good selection of primary and secondary keywords with appropriate density? Good keywords improve the chance it will get picked up and posted on news sites. Everyone links to the home page, add a product deep link. Deep linking will improve with site and page ranking. Distribute not only to internet news like Google, and Yahoo, but the “wire service” is still effective. Don’t forget local or industry editors you may know.

A PR piece I did for company in a BtoB niche still had 214 listings in Google a year later. And the listings were at industry related sites.

Mark’s PR session will be of good value for anyone wanting to come up to speed on PR.
