From the podium of the World Internet Summit this morning I spoke about a number of things, but probably the most significant was something that wasn't even planned, and sounds ironic on its face.
We've had a parade of impressive speakers here, including Rick Raddatz, Dave Taylor, Marc Harty, Rich Schefren and a half dozen others. And there are about 150 attendees — people like you.
And so what did I say to them that was so unbelievable? It's this.
Internet marketing — which appears to be the most impersonal, disconnected, and lonely business you could possibly participate in — is the most personal business I know.
And what makes it so personal are conferences like these, where you have a chance to meet, share, learn, and do business with so many different people.
What makes it personal is that so many business relationships begin here. And since so much of internet marketing is built on the Affiliate relationship, it stands to reason that a tremendous amount of money is manufactured here, too.
Next time you've got an opportunity to attend an event like this, do what you can to make it. Until then, I have a couple of 'next best thing' suggestions for you.
The speakers at this event are getting together for a roundtable Q&A session Sunday afternoon, You can watch it live or get a downloadable video. Take your choice.
You can also get the complete video recordings of the entire event, which includes:
