That old adage about "If you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door" is false. Patently a LIE. It just doesn't happen.
It doesn't happen unless someone knows you've built that mousetrap, and has received a carefully crafted message that hits all the right triggers that get people to take an interest, then take some time, and then take out their credit cards.
Copywriting can be hard, if what you're doing is writing about yourself and your product.
"This mousetrap has a 20 gauge steel spring
and … bla bla bla … Our company has 20
years experience in developing superior mouse
trap technology…"
Copywriting is easy if you focus on your reader, and his problems, and her path to solving those problems.
"In some parts of our town, people are talking about
the 'pitter patter' of little feet — but they're not
feet that belong to small children. These feet patter
in fours… and they're in your walls…"
And if you think for a moment how often you need to communicate with your prospects and buyers, you'll quickly realize that paying someone a small fortune to write all your copy for you — autoresponders, broadcasts, sales letters, squeeze pages, thank you pages, video scripts, audio scripts, banner ads, PPC ads — is going to put you in the poor house.
ALMOST EVERY great marketer writes their own copy…and those who don't write their own, definitely know how to tell if copy is good or bad.
You need one of those skills, or the other. Without either, you'll fail. Plain and simple.
I've seen it happen over and over again, where someone hires a copywriter for a sales letter and gets empty-adjectives ("Super! Amazing!"), mixed-metaphors ("rocket-powered cash-sucking viral tornado of health!"), and could-be-anyones ("We're the best. Our work is guaranteed. Licensed. Bonded.") in a totally ineffective pile of textual garbage.
Yeah, people really do write that stuff.
And they take their businesses (or their client's businesses) down with them.
There are a small number of CLASS-A copywriting instructors you can actually gain access to, and John Carlton is one of them.
But access is rare.
John Carlton has been writing copy since before there was the gleam of the Internet in Al Gore's eye. John's masterful copy has sold tens of millions of dollars of products on the web, and many times more than that offline as well.
John is holding a new, step-by-step live seminar in early May.
You know you need copywriting help, and if you know anything about John, you know that he charges $20k or more for a sales letter (plus a piece of the sales), and $5,000 for a live seminar.
But before you run away, you need to know something.
John is trying something new.
He's auctioning off the seats to his seminar.
No one's ever done this before, so far as I've heard.
There are just 20 seats available, so there will be 20 auction winners. But the thing about this auction is that all 19 of those 20 will pay LESS than they bid. I can't really explain it all, but John can.

(I can tell you this, though….as of this writing, you could be sitting in front of John, where he'll show you a brand new method of writing killer copy that's far more effective than anything any top copywriter has ever shared — for about $1,000.)
It's unlikely it will remain that cheap, but like I said, you need to see how this works, and exactly how you'll end up with copy that actually sells for you.

Whether you launch product after product, or have dozens of sales letters, or focus on just one product all day and all night….this course (and John) will help you like nothing you've ever seen before.
To Your Success,
–Mark Widawer
P.S. John's got several videos on his site — pure educational stuff to help you learn copywriting. Even if you don't go to the live seminar, go learn from John's videos.
You can even copy the headlines he gives you and use them for your own products.
I won't say he doesn't mind, but John is the most often copied copywriter on the web. (…and the people who copy him often make a LOT of money.)
