The first struggle with any new online marketing effort is
getting traffic. The final focus is on getting that traffic
to buy from you.
But what comes in the middle?
When I speak publicly, it's usually about my 'Six Simple
Landing Page Secrets'. And I talk about exactly this. Are
you converting at least ONE PERCENT of your visitors to buyers?
If you're not, you're in good company. The average is a
little below that (I've heard about 0.86% cited), with a the largest number of websites bottoming out at zero.
One thing I just can't believe is how many people don't
bother to build a list on their sales page. On average
you'll get 20% of your visitors to opt into your list . . .
that's probably not a surprise. But with a well designed
autoresponder you'll get about 25% of those to buy from you
— five sales.
That probably *is* a surprise.
Simple math tells you five sales is better than one. But
that's not the only important part of having a list.
Building a list is one of the most important things you can
do to grow your business online and protect that very same
business. If you are selling a product, selling someone
else's products as an affiliate, creating Adsense sites,
blogging. . . it really doesn't matter . . . building a list
is absolutely *critical* to your success.
Think back to July for a moment, when Google changed the
rules on you.
If all of your traffic came from Adwords, then you lost all
of your traffic and all of your sales. If you had no list,
you were out of business.
But if you DID have a list, you had an asset. You had the
ability to continue to market to that list while you worked
on your Adwords strategy to get your traffic back. (Hopefully
you learned your lesson and are using other traffic sources
by now.) You should know, though, that a list is security,
because no matter what happens to the rest of your traffic,
you've still got your list, and the people on the list LIKE
YOU and want to hear from you, take your advice, and buy
from you.
When I spoke at the World Internet Summit in Las Vegas this
year, I met Michael Cheney who also spoke there. At dinner
one night, we talked about lists (among other things). Then
he told me he was working on a new project to teach people
how to build bigger lists much faster.
My ears perked up.
I'm always open to hearing what other people have to say —
especially people who really know what they're talking
about. What's interesting about Michael is that not only
does he know what he's talking about, he usually puts
everything he wants to say on Video.
I learn better that way — I really like to see how things
work. It's more effective than just hearing it. Do you feel
the same way?
I couldn't talk about what he was doing before, but I've got
permission to tell you now.
He's coming out with a set of videos that reveal his own
techniques for building huge lists and cashing in on them.
He's also giving away some of the videos for free, and I
want to encourage you to look into them now. I just watched
the introductory videos, and he makes a very compelling case
that building a large list should be your first priority.
He's right.

P.S. He's giving away his entire system to one person.
Details are on the second page (after the first video), but
you should know that entering is extremely simple. Worth a try,
though!

Oh, and if that video doesn't motivate you, I'd be shocked.
